Boeing is making radical advances in aircraft with the coming production of the 787 Dreamliner aircraft - an airplane that will be built out of more than 50% composite materials, including the fuselage and wings. This type of technology is essential to improve fuel efficiency and reduce pollution.

In order to accomplish this, large sections of tooling will be used that need to be accurate to 0.2 inches along their entire length. We are assisting Boeing by heat treating the tooling to relieve stress while keeping the tight tolerances that are necessary for laying up the composite body of this new aircraft.

Our facilities lend themselves to handling this type of product. Not only do we have the large-scale material handling systems and expertise, we have a furnace that easily handles this type of large structure.
